The Golf Swing Studio at Lake Forest is a full-service, golf instructional business that help individuals from 5 years to 95 years old by "Improving Your Golf Game One Swing at a Time." Our adult instruction covers persons who are new to the sport by offering "Beginner Golf Classes" to advanced players who are trying to lower their handicap by a shot or two. Our junior instruction also covers beginners to advanced players in various clinics and individual lessons.
Paul Johnson, PGA, is the head golf professional at Lake Forest Golf Club and serves as The Golf Swing Studio's owner and lead instructor. Paul is TPI certified (Titleist Performance Institute's- visit www.mytpi.com for more info), which means he is well versed in golf instruction and how a person's physical abilities and limitations affect the way every player swings a golf club.

My belief is that in order to determine the most effective way for our students to swing a golf club, we must ask questions and assess our student's physical abilities and limitations. Once we know our student's motivations and have quantified their abilities and limitations, we can create an individualized game plan to help our students reach their potential. By creating an atmosphere of learning and assessment, we can help our students in creating a golf swing that is highly efficient and very effective in producing the results that maximize their results.

About Us
Paul Johnson, PGA
Through high school, I was fortunate enough to be taught by two instructors: Tom Treese and Dan Shelton, PGA. Because of these two coaches, they guided me and my progress to earn a college golf scholarship at Huntingdon College. While at Huntingdon, I earned 1st Team All-American honors twice and our team won two N.A.I.A. National Championships. After college, it took me six years before I took the plunge into the professional ranks. Unfortunately, due to shoulder injuries, my professional playing career ended before it really took off.
My shoulder setback did jumpstart my teaching career and in 2008, I was elected into membership of the Professional Golfer's Association of America, or PGA. Also in 2008, I was awarded the PGA Dixie Section "Junior Golf Leader of the Year" and a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Junior Instructors Honorable Mentioned award. In 2009, I became certified in the Titleist Performance Institute's, or TPI, golf fitness training certifications and became certified in the TPI Junior Golf certification. Within the TPI Junior Golf certification, I am one of three certified junior golf instructors in the state of Alabama.

I live in Daphne, Alabama, with my wife, Michelle, and my three kids: Carter, Ellie Grace, and Luke. I do continue to play competitive professional golf and work as the Head Golf Professional at Lake Forest Golf Club.
